Making a pressure tester for Mercruiser outdrive

I know what it goes up to...you want a gauge that goes up to 30 PSI so that the pressure you are interested on is right in the middle of the gauge capabilities.

    Solas Amita vs OEM (Yamaha)?

Yes I am. Cobalt dealers in CA are putting Solas props on their brand new boats going out the door. These are $200K+ boats! I just bought a new set of duo props for my Cobalt since I wanted to go up 1" of pitch. I did not even consider going with Mercury...I bought another Solas. If you are...

See what your WOT RPM is with your D5 props and report back. That will tell you the whole story

Making a pressure tester for Mercruiser outdrive

I decided against making my own. Just bought the professional tools from Stevens. I know people that mess around with their DIY setup WAY too much. I just want an accurate tool that works every time. You definitely want a gauge that has a midpoint pressure of around 15 PSI so you can actually...

    Solas Amita vs OEM (Yamaha)?

I beg to differ. Solas props are WAY higher quality than any Mercury prop. I use Solas props on my Bravo 3 and my 90HP Mercury outboard exclusively. Valley Propellor in California swears by them and he is one of the largest distributor of props to OEM boat dealers on the west coast. He showed...

    Leaf Spring Placement

Personally, I hate those types of springs. Was close to modifying my spring setup on my old trailer to shackles but sold it before I had a chance.

    Tires…

For the longest time, I was towing a tandem axle pontoon boat with 3 radials and a bias ply. I didn't even know I had that combo for the longest time. Of course the pontoon was light and probably could have been towed on a single axle trailer with the same sized tires.

    Tires…

Not going to matter one bit....even if you had just replaced one tire as long as its the same type bias/radial

    LiFePO Batteries ???

You don't need to lock out the solar. It is fine to have multiple sources charge your batteries. I do it all the time with my lithium.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Shouldn't be an issue. In normal use, there is no voltage at the input and only voltage on the output when the engine is not running.

    Bunk Boards or Guide Poles?

LOL....correct, without two bunk poles holding up a bunk, that would be worthless.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Didn't even think about that when I posted it...no problem.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I certainly would. It also can take advantage of VE.Network so that it will do remote voltage sensing with a battery monitor which you should really add to your lithium bank even if the battery has a builtin monitor. The battery built in monitors are very innaccuarate. That's also another...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I am pulling it once the new 50A DC to DC is delivered I just ordered. Yes...flex panels suck. I tried to talk my brother out of his. Besides life, they also get hot because there is no cooling so their output is reduced. Less of a problem for you since you are near the water

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I have the Mercathode system and they get their power directly from the battery so that I can turn off my battery and still have power to it. Same applies to my bilge pump. On Cobalts, battery disconnect is outside the engine bay so boats with power hatches don't have your issue. Seems...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Are your Mercathodes on the engine battery or house? Do you turn your battery switches off when you leave the boat?

    LiFePO Batteries ???

This is an option for a dual output solar controller. Epever is not a bad brand. I actually use one for keeping my truck topped off when sitting. One output which is high current is for lithium or lead acid and the 1A output is for lead acid only. I could not find a spec for the trickle charge...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

That's interesting about the trickle charger of the starter battery. It would have to charge it out its normal DC to DC input. Yes..the input of a DC to DC converter can be lower than the output. That's the beauty of a DC to DC converter and why I use one to charge from my vehicle to my travel...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

That is incorrect. It only has one output. The outputs of two solar controllers can be put in parallel...not the inputs. Some controllers may get turned off once they sense the output voltage of the other.
