    I am talking about the bolt diameter (threads) not the head size. Do not know the pitch of the threads but I think Scott Danforth is right. Do not know if it is UNC or UNF, but know that earlier Chryslers had both UNC and UNF depending on year.

    I believe that one is larger. 5/8 x11 UNC or maybe 3/4 x ?. I know that smal OMC engines (5,5Hp Evinrude 1963) has screw diameter size 5/8 and 11 threads UNC an in. I have just restored one that missed both screw clamp.

    Okey, that can be the thing that gives you the issue. Check all those thin wires, pull gently at the wire and check if it is loose at the lug. They can be loose under the shrink tube.

    I have not worked with many engines with T&T but as you says it can be able to swap them. I think the hard thing is to loose the bolts and nuts holding the T&T to the swivel bracket. If it is a salt water engine it can be a real PIA.
