Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

IF the inner parts are good, a piece missing out of the Skeg would not de-value the lower-unit (here in Ontario, Canada it would sell $200-250)

This is matter of opinion(s) there's equal amount that would state the opposite Finding parts can be a daunting task(not impossible/cheap) but neither is the boat you're working on Looks like the pistons are still in the block, the cylinder-wall would need to be inspected for scores They are...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

This is a '89 Force IF the electronics are good and the Cylinder-wall(s) not too badly scored; it would be a great motor to repair. I've done a few (6) of them & own four of them

No guessing required; that is the trailering support bracket for the Force engine. When your shifter (in the boat) AND the timing-tower is neutral (starter interrupt-switch De-activated) The upper shift-shaft (lever) should be budding-up against each other see circulated area. When everything is properly adjusted.......this allows the advance throttle to only go so far (in...

The service manual says; 0.10 (.255mm) maximum opening ALLOWED Like Nordin asked; are all the pedals having this gap? & check with a flashlight how many? If the motor is running with "bad" valve reeds it would be spitting fuel out the carb's throat Do not flip the pedal reeds around! there will...
