Help troubleshooting trailer lights not working

First thing I would do is buy a tester for about four or five bucks and make sure the trailer plug on your tow vehicle is working.

    Building a '93 Caravelle 1750 Classic Bowrider

I think you are on the right track. I'd want to be sure the holes were sealed against water intrusion. That would be hard to do with a layer of carpet under the seat pedestals. It might make for trickier carpet installation, but well worth the trouble, in my book.

stain on gelcoat from wet leaves

I'd try toilet bowl cleaner. Just don't let it get on anything other than the gelcoat (i.e., metal fittings, boat trailer, etc.).

    Building A Hardtop

On a smaller boat, I'd be worried about it becoming top-heavy.

    Clicking noise-motor

Does it make the noise in gear, too, or only in neutral?

    73 Sea Ray restoration

#2 is not a good idea. Aside from initial adhesion concerns, if the bed liner material ever is cut or worn away, repairing it will be a PITA and removing it will be darn near impossible. CSM and paint or gelcoat would be infinitely better.

Question about finish new floor before gelcoat

Just get a fairing compound that is compatible with whatever type of resin you're using. Stay away from fumed silica (aerosil/cabosil); that will work, but it gets really hard and is difficult to sand.

    Problems with forum this morning

Thanks, will do! (Seems to be better....)

    Problems with forum this morning

The forums are acting a bit odd this morning... pages are not loading until I hit the refresh button several times, and when trying to post, I first received an error message (something to the effect of "something went wrong; you can't do that right now") and then, when I tried again, an orange...

Drive removed for the 1st time, gimbal aligment inspection

Seems like you're having to work pretty hard to get the alignment bar in and out. Also, when my engine is aligned, the witness marks in the grease seem a lot more even than what you're showing. I'm hoping some of these guys with lots more experience weigh in on this one.

Has anyone seen one of these before

That's a cool little boat. Have you tried emailing Chris Craft? They might have some info on it, especially since it looks like an unusual model.

    Engine Alignment Almost There

Hope it doesn't go out when you're in a difficult spot... that kind of stuff seems to fail at the most inopportune times.

I’m with you, brother. Put my boat to bed last Sunday.

    My first boat (project)

Cool little boat! You definitely have a project on your hands...

    My first boat (project)

The good news is that most boat manuals are pretty worthless, anyway. The place to start is to post some pictures of your boat, along with details like what sort of propulsion (outboard vs. I/O, for example) it has.

Mercruiser 5.0 TKS vs 4.3 MPI

We had a Dodge Onmi 024 the first year they were made, 1979. These were the 'sporty' version of the Omni family. It was a nice looking little car, but it had a weak little engine (1.7L 70hp, I think) that left you wanting a bit more. It was a cute little car, though, and still fun to drive, even...

    73 Sea Ray restoration

Depends how smooth is smooth... CSM will be better, but won't really be what I'd call smooth. Fairing and sanding isn't really that bad, if you don't splooge too much stuff all over.

    Lead Paint in 1976

These are what I have used. Really easy and almost impossible to screw up...
