Trying to get my boat working properly this summer despite several setbacks. Started the engine and after about 10 minutes idling at the dock I heard a couple of alert beeps a minute or apart. Then continuing beeps. Turned off the engine and used my Diacom to read the codes. DTC 441 and 442...

I went to my boat today to reset the Ocean-X. I found the Diacom has an option to reset the Ocean-X and used it. No active code after I reset the Ocean-X.

I have also seen were too much Black Permatex was used so seal the exhaust manifolds and/or riser and some oozed into and partially blocked the water passages.

    Risers getting very hot

You typically have one water pump that pumps sea water towards the engine and another water pump that pulls in some of that water and via a thermostat circulates water through the block. Not sure if you can do it all with a single pump. Something like a Mercruiser Alpha One has one water pump...

    Risers getting very hot

So over time the water passages in the exhaust manifold and risers rust from fresh water and/or get corroded by salt water and need to be pulled and inspected, then maybe cleaned or replaced. VP DPS-A OXI outdrive with DTC=713

I had the outdrive completely rebuilt by one of the best companies in the country. Drive was reinstalled by a local marine shop. When first put in the water and started I get a DTC=713 water in outdrive gear oil. I think the Ocean-X system needs to be reset. Has anyone had experience with...

Need length of VP shift cable

Boat is a 2011 Chaparral Signature 270. Need to replace the shift cable. Would like to know ahead of time so I can buy the proper cable. The throttle cable is a 19'. Outdrive is DPS-A OXI. Looked with a flashlight and do not see a marking on the shift cable. Found one on the throttle cable.
