    Looks to me all the intakes are recessed further then the exhaust, and that could be normal due to valve lift. Intake lift is greater then exhaust

    Might not have a macerator Look for a 1.5 to 2 inch hole on the side of the hull. The macerator will be connected nearby the hole. If boat has a generator there will also be a hole the same size for it

    Not really, spacers just raise the amount of water higher, its still close the the exhaust exit point. Need to get the water further away from the motor so it doesn't get sucked back in Raising helps but its getting it further way is the main course. I had a 530hp 502 and used Eddie Marine...

    Need to know the cam specs or dyno hp numbers to determine what type exhaust is needed. The motor pic looks like it had dry to the tip exhaust. If that is needed then the ones your showing will not work

    Lou I checked the serial number and part shows those style rockers item20/21 The lifters are item 10 roller type Push rods should be 7.25 inch

    With the nuts you have it's torque to 27 and your done

    Yes that is a self locking type Check the length of the push rods

    Those are torque to spec, there not self locking

    As we all know something is wrong. The adjustable rocker will have self locking rocker nuts and you will not be able to tighten them with your fingers.

    Cleaning the lifters I'll assume they were not marked so they didn't go back in same hole and same facing position? All the rocker nuts should go down the same amount. The ones not fully seated need to find out why. Take the lifter back out and check to see if it goes all the way down when...

    Did you rebuild the lifters, as in replacing the seals inside? If not they could still be ok but would have to run the motor to find out. The lifter needs to be full of oil and I usually place them in a container and let soak in oil overnight.
