    1978 Evinrude 70HP- Trouble starting/idling/bogging under load

Pulling the head is well worth the effort. If for nothing else you have inspection notes for future reference. Resurfacing the head is easy and would be worth the time spent.

    1978 Evinrude 70HP- Trouble starting/idling/bogging under load

It wouldn’t hurt to take a peek at the fuel pump as well. Kits are cheap and if it’s the original it’s probably due to be refreshed anyway. A leaking diaphragm will add extra fuel directly to the cylinder adding more fuel than needed. Could result in one plug being more wet than others and to...

Can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be this AM

My buddy’s dad makes sausage and hot dogs out of the big guys and it goes down good. The season just started here and will be good as always. We have such an over run population here they even they a $100 bounty on the does last year. Not sure if that will be offered again this year. The plan...

Could be. Even though you went to a reliable source new can sometimes mean nothing. Been down that myself on a few times.

    Fuel system

If the bulb is collapsed generally there is a lake of air in the tank and it’s causing a vacuum. If you crack the fill cap on the tank can you hear air getting sucked in?

Nice mistake. I would have made the same decision. And you can’t go wrong with a good ole reliable Mossberg.

    Engine size for Wooden Boat?

That is some beautiful work but how thick is the transom? I don’t know that I would trust a 40hp and anything less than 2 inches thick. Just my 2 cents

I really want to try that some day and see what all the hype is about. Has anyone here had the experience?

    Gun ownership and permits.

When my kids were young I decided to let a friend hang on to my guns so they weren’t in the house. Except for one black power pistol that was not able to fire. It was in a box in the basement that I assumed would never be found but I was wrong and one day my son asked me about it. Kids get into...

Does Anyone Know Any Halloween Songs?

I’m a bit late to the show and its not really a Halloween song but it’s great nonetheless. Oingo Bingos song Deadman's party.

    Gun ownership and permits.

In Ma 10 rounds is the max. One of my hand guns has a 13 round mag and is considered high capacity there for I must hold a Class A license. The same gun also has an extended 20 round mag.

outboard won't stay idling or rev up

Those pesky cam rollers. I gave mine a spin the other day just to check it and it broke in half. I had a one on hand but it made me laugh that I was just another trip away from trouble.

    Gun ownership and permits.

I was thinking back to when I lived in FL. Fl tried an open carry law back in the mid to late 80’s. Everyone was walking around with a side arm. It lasted about a week and they decided it was a bad idea. It was like the Wild West. Now in Ma even though I’m licensed to carry and conceal if I...

    Gun ownership and permits.

In my state I have to renew my Ltc every 5 years. I only had to take the safety course for the first issue. That was 30 years ago. Not the best plan for people that don’t practice from time to time.
