    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

You can't bend 6061. The money you save in materiel using 6061 (roughly 20%) is a drop in the bucket to the difference in fabrication (welding) costs

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Copper is added for strength and improve machining properties. No good for saltwater environments. T = tempered. Don't bend…cracks

    Yard sale grinder

You can say that again. My first job I had to weld up these large aluminum enclosures then grind the welds then finish for painting with a 5 hp Milwaukee grinder, #80 soft pads, a squirt can of oil.

Have enough HP for hole-shot ?

Just about every drift when playing chicken with a bridge in a 4-6 kt. current....lol Don't conflate fast and acceleration. Big difference between "Fast" to avoid and "Fast" to get places quicker

    Evinrude 225 1987 Bogging down

Compression is a bit low. Don't know if it’s apples to oranges comparison, but my 1997 is # 97-100 all the way around. Could be the gauge. What rpm is your idle set at? Mine has not idled at spec (650 rpm) since new. @ 725 it will purr like a kitten all day

Have enough HP for hole-shot ?

You are better to have power and not need it, than to need it and not have it I would never own a boat that wasn't at least 75% off the maximum HP for the hull

    Fuel Water Separator

“Cloudy” gas has not separated....otherwise it wouldn’t be cloudy and you would see three distinct layers on the bottom of the glass E10 can carry up to 0.05% water by volume before separation and still be a perfectly viable fuel. In my area, your fuel can look like that in a week or two in the...

Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

You have more going on than just the sealant. There isn’t a sealer on the market that would withstand the force of an impact gun. Having said that, the plugs are tapered, dry seal connections. They should be “snug”, but not tight. Over tightening will gull (distort and damage) the threads...

    Tachometer Install

You don’t say which motor, but if it’s a fuel injected engine the “tach module” is an induction sensor. Replaces the functionality of a distributor in the timing of the motor.

    Voltage rectifier

interesting observation given that most the components are made in China or Taiwan to begin with. Must keep special stock of “quality parts” they ship for OEM parts manufacturers….lol

    Wobble roller placement

Here is a picture on mine sitting on my previous trailer. Have since gone to a drive-on aluminum trailer Note that the rear roller bunks are wider that the front bunks do to the hull design

    Wobble roller placement

Ideally, you want the roller bunks as wide as possible for stability with rollers sitting on, or close proximity to the stringers.

    Need help

It doesn't......use an A/B switch. The B60 is better at high speed and has better bottom discrimination. Switch over to the GT-51M transdcuer for CHIRP and side scan functionality

    Need help

Went with the B60 thru hull back in my Furuno days for the 45 degree cone angle. Switched to Garmin CHIRP with side scan when it came out. The CHIRP unit supports the B60 so I left it. Less interference than the transom mount GT-51M when running

    Water in my lenses
