Too much wind and rain in my face

No Striper fishing for you….lol November through mid-April are prime months. Having said, most Striper guys have full enclosures, IE portable greenhouse…I normally just wear thermal underwear (long Johns) and a hooded sweat shirt.

2017 115hp efi fuel issues please help

Holy molly...... that's crazy money given the scope of the work. Injectors should be serviced and performance tested on a fairly regular basis. Especially of the boat sits long periods of time unused You may have initially cleared the filters in the FSM and/or the injectors, only to flush a...

2017 115hp efi fuel issues please help

The injectors in an EFI are sensitive to dirty fuel. A 10 micron filter or better is required to prevent down stream problems. When was the last time you serviced the vapor separator? The 50/50 mix of gas and naphtha (seafoam) isn’t helping. Labeled dosage to clean injectors is 128/1 You’re...

Too much wind and rain in my face

Huddled behind a 3’ tall windshield isn’t going to cut it when it’s 30 degrees out. Besides, always navigate standing up for better all around visibility and to cut down on visits to the chiropractor.

    Commonality with Auto Works

I rent probably 30-35 cars a year. Have end up with just about every make and model you can think of over the years. Was lost a number of times until I learned how to read / maneuver the GUI used to operate most vehicles. How many people know there is a "pointer" to tell you which side of...

    Dust Cap Woes

Wheel bearings are in hack and whack territory. Use anything “softer” than the race itself (~ RC60) to remove them. I use drift punches (brass if doing precision work) and a #3 ball peen hammer. A urethane handled, flat head screw driver works as well, if not better, when removing small...

    Lowrance LCX-112C

My boat had LCX 112 on it when I bought it in 2000. Was not a fan of the operating system. The flashing is an alert you that the displayed data (depth) in invalid. It’s typically a bad transducer, but could also be a failing pulse generator. The only way to know for sure is to connect a...

    Lowrance LCX-112C

Explain…transducers either work or they dont. What are you seeing above 30’? I’m amazed the connectors interchange. I prefer 50kHz when trolling because of the wider cone angles. Went to side scan CHIRP in 80-160kHz for trolling Yes…the pulse is generated in the head and sent to the piezo in...

Tow Smart "Submersible" LED tail lights are junk... better solution?

You have 12-18 LED running at less than 3 volts each, being feed a 12 volt supply. You need to mount the individual LED and you need to reduce the voltage to each one. A simple pcb solves both problems

Fridge shuts off when not on shore power

Can’t tell w/o digging in to the schematic, but I’m guessing the unit runs on AC. Using a switching power supply to convert DC to AC. If that is the case, something took out the inverter side of the supply

Why am I replacing woodruff key???????

Guessing The key is intentionally softer than the shaft to absorb the impact should anything bind up the impeller. Typically a low carbon steel. The drive shaft is typically a 4xx series stainless. The impeller typically has a bronze hub so you have a dissimilar metals situation. With the...

    Humminbird Low Battery Alarm Setting?

Technically, 12 volts is a dead battery. You might want to set it a bit higher ;) Yes, with caviots. 1. Depends on where in the circuit the voltage is monitored (input or output of power supply) 2. May or may not be an accurate depending on how much of a voltage drop do you have between the...
