    There is no water flow sensor in that motor. If the motor is over temping then the warning horn will be sounding.

    Interesting. The Yamaha F250 has an electronic throttle valve. It does not have an idle air control valve.

    2000 200hp Saltwater series smoking more than usual

    There is a plastic clip that holds a link in place between the throttles and the oil pump. If that clip breaks the oil pump will default to the maximum oiling position. The clip is known to age with time, get brittle and break. I would check that.

    The parts catalogs show that the 1984 50 HP models did not come with trim and tilt. Power trim only. The attach parts for power trim are more than likely different for trim and tilt.
