    150 EXEOM Choke solonoid picture.

Mine did the same thing last Spring It just quit working. Upon further inspection found the coil had overheated and melted the epoxy as yours did. Traced it back to a sticking key switch. Replaced the switch and primer. Everything was back to normal. Fast forward to this year. Had to...

    Lift OR Floating Dock

Two primary reasons…no bottom paint to deal with and the weather/tides, but let’s start with what Bay are we talking about and what direction is that facing? Local flood stage? You say protected but what is its proximity /orientation to open water? Surges are amplified in closed in areas How...

    Storage on land

Never heard of such a thing. What kind of plug do you have that requires a “sealer” every year? Besides, it’s that boat self bailing? My plug is brass. Comes once a year at best. Apply a coat of marine grease for good luck and reinstall. Never heard of, nor seen an electronic component such...

Shim material for swim step bracket

I would start by flattening out the mounting bracket. Put an 1/8” thick nylon washer under each mounting hole and bolt it up.

Solar pool heater water flow question(s)

My dad built his first roof top solar pool heater in the 70’s. Used 50’ of 3/4” black well pipe coiled up and stapled to a 2x4x 96” laying on the roof of the house, roughly 15’ in elevation change. Teed into the 1.5” output of the pump. Used a 3/4” gate way to control the flow. Ran the return...

    Trim tab options

Doubt it, but way more than I needed on a 23’ boat. Any particular reason you choose electric over hydraulic? Not a fan of electric tabs. It’s not if one fails, it’s when one fails. The bigger issue is that you can’t retract one once they fail unlike hydraulic tabs. No fun limping home from...

    McCulloch Leaking Filter Bowl

Post your 3 numbers.... "Closest" in size doesn't cut it with o-rings

    McCulloch Leaking Filter Bowl

Neither match "the bowl is about 2" across" comment. Get a pair of calipers and measure the depth and inside and outside diameters of the groove on the bottom of the carb. Those three dimensions will determine which o-ring to use

    Fish Finders

Some units are capable of creating your own “maps” by storing the soundings you’ve pasted over to a chip, but pretty useless for navigation purposes. Since you’re in a small lake, navigation probably isn't a priority. Check to see if there isn’t a user group that shares sounder readings online

Prop suggestion for a 175 VMAX SHO

The numbers on the Enertia are rather weird. I’m running the same prop on a #5200 Grady Walkaround with a 225 HP. Get similar results with the except for the “hump” in fuel consumption, which I’m guessing is right around where you come up on plane. I get a weird chatter right before the...

    What boat to choose

Don't know your local water conditions, but 6M is still rather small to be heading offshore in search of pelagics. I run a 7M boat. Can only fish three people w/o falling over each other. Can't image trying to fish 5 guys on a 6 meter boat. Most running offshore around here are in the 8-10M...
