    what maintenance did you do prior to putting the boat in the water? plugs/cap/rotor/wires/plugs? oil filter & oil fuel filter? drive alignment, raw water pump service, u-joint inspection and bellows? if you pull the fuel filter to inspect its contents, do not reuse.

    just have a heavy friend jump up and down when you are pressing the down button. you are mashed up against the end of the cylinder and the PO check valves are now stuck closed holding the drive up.

    with a milkshake in the oil. drain the antifreeze from the glycol side and pressure test. should hold 15 psi forever. test the anti-freeze you pull out with a refractometer. make sure it is good. my guess, with the antifreeze low, the coolant freeze point is way to high, so it froze.
