    is the boat kept in the water? is the boat a weekend trailer boat only? the stickies have a low cost process to paint your boat for about $100. only works on trailer boats. if its a moored boat, you are looking at one of the top-side marine paints

    I would leave as is. The paint will become one with the gasket in a harmonious union for the life of the gasket or riser, which ever one dies first. If it bothers you remove the paint or grab a can of krylon Seriously..... It doesn't matter on that surface
