    Grease on rims

What is the drop temperature of the grease you’re using? I use a grease with a drop temp of 450-500F to minimize the amount of “free” grease in the hub at any given time I would put good money on this is your problem. You shouldn’t need to add grease between bearing flushes unless you have...

1996 Johnson 225 with dual Binnacle control, lack reverse throttle range

Throttle cable is adjusted with the throttle linkage sitting on the idle stop. Adjustment will not affect idle unless the cable is too tight (short), and the throttle isn’t returning to the idle stop. The bypass is a cam that combine the open/close action of the throttle with the forward and...

1996 Johnson 225 with dual Binnacle control, lack reverse throttle range

Your limited to your throttle adjustment in reverse. When I replaced my cables a while back I had more travel than throttle in forward. Reverse throttle bottomed out just barely above idle Don’t remember exactly what I did but it was a throttle cable adjustment.

Can you change from welded to bolted?

Suggest you find a new coater that knows the process…lol The materials is degreased in a hot alkaline solution then pickled (typically hydrochloric acid) to remove mill scale then dried. From there it’s rinsed then dipped in ammonium chloride that acts like a flux for zinc.

I take your looking for a bolt on solution to save a trip to the welding shop. Otherwise it’s an easy remove and replace repair. I was fabricator and certified welder in a prior life but have no idea what shops charge theses days much. The problem you’ll have is finding a support bracket...

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Nope….Baltimore - Washington DC area. The close proximity to the Atlantic (Gulf Stream) moderates the weather. Not unusual for trees and bushes to bud this time of the year
