There is also a latch on the drive side that is latched in place on the shift cable just before the drive fully makes contact with bell housing

    Search auto reset breaker, you will find them It's basically a temp breaker. Current passes thru contacts until it gets so hot that the breaker contacts separate. When it cools back down contacts pass current again. Used a lot on heavy equipment

    Yes, but only for a couple seconds when key is first turned ON. Once ECM removes the ground you will see 12V again Did you tell Bob that it was a fuel pump issue? Not that he needed to know but I'm assuming it would help make sure the problem your trying to fix
