    Outboard Painting

The only finishes recommend by Rustoleum for use with gasoline and gasahol are their coal tar epoxies and Urethane http://www.rustoleumibg.com/images/TechSpecsAndGuides/LIT_CPS_0406_9579550_Chemical-Resistance-Guide.pdf.pdf

    Outboard Painting

The zinc based primer is to protect the aluminum in case the coating is compromised. If you don’t use zinc for its sacrificial properties then any primer will do. Used Rustoleum primer and paint on my aluminum props for years. A good sanding, then primer and paint will do

    Blower motor popping circuit breaker

Resistance within a circuit increases the current. Check your power and ground connections

    Trailer Wiring

Daisy chaining ground wires is never a good idea. The possible failure rates grows exponentially with each connection I’m no fan of multiple ground wires for a number of reason, but should you choose to do so, run each ground wire from the light all the way back to a common ground point. One...

    Repower with modern 4 stroke?

The 240 hp figure is based solely on a calculation based on hull geometry. The weight of the outboard counts against the boats max. load capacity. The closest you can get to 240 hp is a single 225 HP or 115 HP twins.

Help with a systems check tach for Evinrude! Total Newbie here!

I was under the impression that system check was a mid to late 1990’s addition but I see the sell a 176709 adapter kit. Appears to be a new wiring harness and oil level sensor for the oil tank. Requires a 4 wire OMS full pump as well

Help with a systems check tach for Evinrude! Total Newbie here!

I’m pretty sure your motor doesn’t support (too old) the functionality of the system check tach.

    Trailer Wiring

Take your voltmeter and measure the resistance (lowest scaling factor) between ground point on the trailer and the ground pin in the connector. Touch probes to determine the "baseline" resistance (zero) of the probes. A good ground should read 0 ohms. 0.5 ohms max. I suspect you have a short...

1988 Merc 200 HP Smoking during warmup.

No, what I’m saying is certification against a min. performance standard is simply a pay for play scheme. No ticky, no laundry... If this process is really in the best interest of consumers, where are the published test results? Why no rating system? All you have to do is read the terms and...

1988 Merc 200 HP Smoking during warmup.

I’ve run nothing but “DFI” rated oils in my carb 2 stroke for the past 15 years or so. XD50/ Merc Premium Plus/OptiMax/Pennzoil Premium Plus. Only stuff that runs worth a darn under my normal operating conditions. One would think it would have failed by now if use was detrimental to the engine...

    Possible Business

The first thing you need to do is come up with a comprehensive business plan. Need to do a bunch of research on market size, market variability, cost of entry, long term market projections, ROI, COGS, etc. Nothing like throwing a lot of time, energy and money into products or services going...

1988 Merc 200 HP Smoking during warmup.

TCW-3 is a "pay to play" marketing organization. The pass/fail criteria is abominable..... A number of very good oil manufacturers refuse to be black mailed.....

Most don't understand the difference between accuracy and precision. We manufacture industrial measurement systems. We spec an accuracy (± 0.1 % of measured value) but the most import attributes for a customer are Stability and Reproducibility (Precision).

Laguna Spa Hot Tub problem - stopped working

No EP error code listed but listed “E” errors relate to flow which makes sense given the end results. Check for a restriction of flow. An in-line strainer is mentioned in a couple of troubleshooting guides Need to know make and model of control board to dig any deeper

The question is not how accurate the gauge is, but how accurate does the gauge need to be since the sensors don't actually measure tire pressure? The sensors are looking for a differential between “stored” and “measured” values. Storage mode: If the pressure is below 1.5 bar (21.75 psi)...

    Flywheel material?

One would assume cast steel... but I see lots of comments about cracking. Pretty tuff to crack cast steel. Either way, pretty sure nothing good can come from rotating a #25 unbalanced flywheel at 5000 rpm
