    93 vp aq570 with 280 drive hydrolocked??

The SBC is the Mr potato head of motors. Any post 1986 block and heads will work. If you want to keep your existing manifold, you will need to check it for freeze cracks. And if it's good, you are looking at a 1986-1995 motor I personally would go with vortec heads (1996 and later), so you...

    Kill switch replacement

It's one purple wire. The connector shown in your first picture. Disconnect that connection and put the switch in between the two connectors Use a hydraulic jack, some jack stands and some pieces of 2x6 to lift the boat off the one bunk to replace it

4.3 no power to fuel pump

is your boat carbureted or EFI? that determines how the fuel pump relay is wired. if carbureted, there are two leads, one from the starter I terminal, and one from the alternator. both with a diode If EFI, the ECM controls the relay. have the alternator tested. Alternator wont generate...

ok peeps. here is a question.

the new one is grounded thru the case, connect your trigger wire to the S terminal. looks like old one had 5/16" studs, new one has 3/8" studs? looks like generic bakelite casting. S = Start, I = Ignition. same as a starter relay.

Mercruiser - 3.7 ( 470 ) Alpha1 ( please list the sources of CLEAN water in the oil ) about a cup - Antifreeze not leaking - no green in the water -

a waterlogged hull sitting low in the water will allow water to migrate to the cylinders thru the exhaust, and will get into the oil other than that, large quantities of water in the fuel will make it run like crap and may get past the rings at idle. having water spray on the engine may have...

Swapping gearing in a stringer outboard

much easier to simply weld on a new skeg on the 400 lower you are trying to mix stringer 400 and 800 bits.

VP 280: exhaust water out helmet area

you need the idle relief for the motor to be able to idle with a wet exhaust. just like if you back your car in the water and the exhaust is underneath. as some point the backpressure in the exhaust will stop the motor. same goes with boats. all marine motors with exhaust thru the drive have...

    sacrificial anode

the motor will have an anode on it. unless you add it yourself, the pontoon itself wont have one as they are generally intended to be fresh water only.
