    Did you remove the high speed jet screwed into the float bowl for cleaning ?------Checked the reed valves ?

    You should always start the trouble shooting with the basics.----Post the results of a compression test here.----Does spark jump a gap of 1/4" or more on a test device , yes or no ?

    1989 88spl idle adjustment

    At idle the carburetor throttle plates must be closed.-----Idle speed is controlled by timing.---Not to be confused with MAXIMUM timing as that is not adjusted.---So turn adjusting screw in to speed up the RPM.

    Are you pushing the key in and holding it in while cranking it over to start it ?----Are the high speed jets found in the bottom of the float bowl clean ?

    Simplification.----Use your garden hose to fill a bucket with water.-------Once bucket is full you close off the end of the hose.------The water in the bucket is not under pressure from the hose is it ??

    Does the tell tale hose come off the side of the block or off the top ??----Post the compression test values here.---Did you look into 0432955 water pump hit ?----It has parts / instructions for this motor.

    Really------Once the fuel goes past the float valve it is no longer under pressure from the pump !!----I am going to be blunt and suggest you find some videos on U-tube to see how a carburetor works.----Some videos are better than others.

    Open low speed mixture screw (s ) about 1/8th turn at a time and test run.

    Some of the 75 HP models used a 2 cylinder gearcase.----That is why there is a different gear ratio.

    Just asked the poster to clarify what he has.----Some folks may not be aware of the difference in lower units.----I agree the 2 cylinder lower units are not robust , not even strong enuff for the 50 HP motors.

    The fuel in a carburetor bowl sees atmospheric pressure !-----Not fuel pressure from a fuel pump !

    Does the 75 HP use the 15" gearcase or 20" ?

    The motor wiring harness should not be used to power all that stuff.
