    It would not run with those compression numbers.====Remove cylinder head and have a look.---Could be a blown head gasket.-----Look at the model # again.

    Open low speed mixture screws about 1/8th turn at a time.-----That usually makes the bogging go away.----Do this with boat floating in the water.

    Remove bearing housing under the water pump.----Replace oil seals on that housing.------These gearcases are not robust in my opinion.----Very important to keep water out of them.----Use top quality gear oil.

    You have to lift the powerhead off.-----You have to split the block.----You have to lift the crankshaft about 1/2" to get reed blocks out.----What is your motor doing / not doing for you ????

    Remove lower unit.----Measure shift rod height.----Post that value.-----Set correct shift rod height.----Test run.

    There was an outboard motor with a similar concept back in the late 1930's.----A " Clarke Troller "----Piston / crank / block were under water.----No need for driveshaft , water pump or gears.----Very light weight .---A collector item today.

    Throttle shaft

    Fuel cannot leak from that shaft when motor is running.----Normal to leak from throttle shaft right after motor is stopped.

    Does primer ball go hard ?----Post the compression numbers here.----And does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on both leads.----Sounds like it might be running on just 1 cylinder.

    The crosshatching remains well after there has been some wear.------If this motor is still using the " autoblend " mixer unit then remove it and throw it away.-----Run with a 50 :1 mix or 45:1 if it is working hard.--Such as tubing / waterskiing.
