A bit of a rough moment for the Mod V Marker 17 Marine team today at the 7 Mile Offshore Grand Prix in Marathon, Fla.
yes that is the drive that has left the boat.
Grind them a bit to clean gel. Mis up some fumed silica with some gel to make a paste and fair the surface flat.
Same process as fixing spider cracks in gel that is in the stickies at top of this forum
We're you in the water or on muffs to get the pump primed?
We're you attempting to suck water up from a bucket?
Did you lube the new impeller with a water soluble lube during assembly?
Check the inlet and outlet hoses?
Start with what is the current ROM at WOT
What speed are you getting at WOT
What is the issue you perceive to have
What is the actual scale weight of your boat
Is your compression numbers within spec (135-150 psi)
600-700 RPMs set in gear in the water
Don't be shifting out of water. And be quick with shifting dog clutch drives
Shifting like miss Daisy will just take out the dog clutch and make it rattle. Shifting at 1000 RPM will take out the dog clutches faster
Plenty of people get water in the gear box.
Sometimes it the drain plug seal
Sometimes it's a prop shaft seal
However the factory service manual has a process for trouble shooting
They don't exist, other than a 4-page safety brochure telling you the pointy end is the bow, and the end with the propeller is dangerous when the motor is running and a list of servicing dealers
