    Yep, it's that time! :-(

the big J hose and the hoses running to the coolers need to be drained yes, you need to use a good PG AF and leave in the engine. if you have a brand new engine, why did you not install a heat exchanger?

    Antifreez

It freezes in Florida and Texas. It definitely freezes in Georgia Many people that have boats hanging in boat houses have bilge heaters If your boat is in the water, it's going to be fun until the water starts to freeze

Best way to waterproof plywood transom

The best is Woodonglass's "oldtimers formula" 1 part boiled linseed oil, 1 part spar varnish, 2 parts mineral spirits. let it soak in for a few coats, then cover with spar varnish.

    change steering shaft

I would have had the drive off and the motor out and back in in the time it took you to do all that.

    Old I/Os = Money Pits?

Transoms rot years before the floor ever gets soft Only way to know for sure is to buy a much, much newer hull than the ones you're looking at. Again, any fiberglass boat under $5k is a project and should be looked at like it needs a full gut-n-restore During COVID, that number was $15000
