    its not, however water is forced to the impeller to force a prime. that is how muffs work on a 60PSI+ residential water supply.

    that is run-on. and that little gasp at the end is the motor running backwards and sucking water from your exhaust. I bet you hydrolocked which is why it wouldnt start til morning, I bet you find water in your oil

    Unless the container was big enough to have the whole drive submerged so the impeller starts out 5-8" below the water surface, it wont prime and you will burn up the impeller. always use muffs and always make sure the hose is 5/8" or 3/4" and the spigot is on full. there should be a 10' spray...

    knocking is usually lack of oil pressure which is usually not a good sign.

    I prefer to have the deck tabbed in and pour thru a series of small holes then I know there is full encapsulation and a full fill.

    based on the pic, you would need 2-3 quarts of white for the bottom and 1-2 quarts of orange for the sides and at least 1 gallon of 904

    I did my whole 26 foot boat inside and out with 2 gallons of gel and 2 gallons of 904 additive. You do not need 5 gallons for the bottom

    2# foam does add some structure, however 4# is structural

    you keep forgetting the foam is also structural. so the single 3/4" width stringer is plenty when properly encapsulated
