Mercruiser 5.0 MPI 2013. Crank but no start.

Always wet, if it rains a bunch and your not under cover then ok, but if it has always been wet even when it doesn't rain then there is a leak somewhere

Lets find out for sure its fuel with an easy test Remove the flame arrestor off the throttle body (TB) Take 15 to 25 ML of gas and pour into the TB Try to start the motor. If it starts and dies its fuel and were on the right path

Unless your getting bad parts, the fall off of fuel pressure is easy to diagnosis. Mentioned the cool fuel module was replaced, and the module contains pump, cooler and regulator. Unless these were used parts, you should not be having this issue. 0Hg would be fine while cranking You could...

Mercruiser 5.0 MPI 2013. Crank but no start.

Look at the fuel filter housing, there will be 3 lines on it. One from the tank, one going to the fuel pump and one coming back from the fuel pump regulator. Look at the arrows on the filter housing, If the line coming back from the regulator is removed and blocked off, and the filter head...

Mercruiser 5.0 MPI 2013. Crank but no start.

No, that's not good, it should stay there and very slowly drop if at all It might be leaking back thru the pump, regulator or an injector To test, need to block off the fuel line going to the fuel rail and attach gauge. Turn key ON and see if gauge stays up then its an injector or fuel line...

    Mercruiser 3.0 est distributor problem

It shouldn't do that, and I would say the issue is with the module The timing should advance to about 12* when the jumper is removed as it states in the docs above

    Plug gap and Compression

There all within 10% of lowest, and your 120 may be just the gauge. If its not the gauge then the motor will run fine, just not have as much power as when new

    Mercruiser 3.0 est distributor problem

Would be in neutral If its stalling with the wires connected then there is something wrong with the distributor module

Disconnect the gray from the back of the Tach. You want to see 300 rpm when cranking but there is no way you will see 3000 It ran fine before the rain so a bad connection is where I'm leaning

ok, the key is turned ON and the fuel pump runs for a couple seconds The fuel pressure is at 43 psi at the rail When the motor is cranking do you get at least 300 rpm? If not check for 12V at the coil with ignition ON

Have you scanned for codes or is it from smartcraft display? Have a serial number? You say MOB activated, meaning its not active as in open, right? Said its a gremlin, does this mean it does every once in a while or its broke and it does not work at all?

    Mercruiser 3.0 est distributor problem

The balancer mark comes up on #1 and #4 with a 4 cycle motor. Shutting the motor down and rotate until the mark shows up, is just a 50/50 shot as to which one comes up. Are you jumping the 2 white wires together on the shunt?

    Mercruiser 3.0 est distributor problem

It might be pointing at #1 but not knowing where the cam is at, it could actually be at #4 If its backfiring and turning the distributor a slight bit in either direction does not make it stop and start running, then most likely its 180* out My previous comment is to make sure its actually on...

    Mercruiser 3.0 est distributor problem

If it back fires then it may be 180* out, or needs to be just slightly more adjusted. Put a cork or your thumb over #1 plug hole. Bump the motor over until the pressure pushes the cork out. This is #1 cylinder TDC, install the distributor

    Cracked spark plug porcelain-timing?

The old 305 is a non-vortec motor and timing will be at 8* BTDC The plugs were the wrong ones and should be MR43T which are marine type

Generac Generator 17kw Guardian Series- runs constantly

Before you swap the fuses, remove and check each one with a meter on the ohms scale. Need to find out IF one is blown. If one is blown then you need to find out what caused it to blow. That needs to be fixed before installing another fuse because it will just blow again. It really sounds...

    Cracked spark plug porcelain-timing?

Could be the plugs had a factory defect, don't know but its very unusual for it to crack on its own Setting timing 4* further advance then spec may work out, but I wouldn't even try it without a working knock sensor.

    Plug gap and Compression

If your gauge is accurate then the compression is low, should be closer to 150 Having 6 of 8 at the pressure is worst if the other 2 are even lower
