    Perhaps an oil leak on the oil lines.------Best to find the leak ( replace hoses ) and fix it.-----Loosing oil injection system gets expensive in a hurry !

    Oil injection has nothing to do with ignition.-----I would say the powerpack is the culprit.-----Fairly easy to change out.

    Springs do not get lazy here.-----Perhaps the plastic bushing / sleeve #55 is compromised.-----Very easy to shim this up to correct the issue.

    Remove that wood shim.------Drill the transom ( 2 holes total ) through the slots at bottom of brackets.----Done.

    You only need to drill the slots at the bottom ( total of 2 ) holes.------That and the 2 clamps keeps the motor from going for a swim.

    Correct-----Oxygen joins with the aluminum.-----Makes aluminum oxide.----There is now more material there and the copper tube is deformed.

    A black sparkplug indicates a cold running cylinder.-----Perhaps one of the carburetor floats has an issue.----Note ----Carburetors on starboard side feed the cylinders on the port side.
