    Ran compression test on the 140 and 3 cylinders are 110 psi and 1 is 105 Tried to do the 120 but no starter, so I'll pull one off the 105

    When in doubt use the OEM gear lube. Not a Yam guy, just my thoughts Google yamaha gear lube and it comes back as SAE90 same as the rest...

    What happened to your motor? Don't know your location but might be able to find one in a junk yard. Then replace some parts to marine. Might be able to get one for $300 maybe then get new exhaust

    Most likely you need to replace the lower shift cable. For the no start issue it may be out of adjustment or bad switch. Disconnect the shift interrupter switch on the shift plate and see if it will start.

    Can install the plastic ones which does make it easier. I have them on my motors
