    Marine rated means its metal factory installations are custom fabricated assemblies. I have re-made them a few times. Mercury Racing had the two lines coming together near the center of the carb for the HP500 motor. you can flip the line around to go aft and re-route the fuel line if needed.

    my guess is you have water in the fuel system and it doesnt run well on water, hence the drop in the RPM. as Bondo stated, check the contents of your fuel filter.
