    Check flywheel key.----No you need to advance " throttle only lever " to open throttle plates slightly for cold start.---And at idle the throttle plates are to be closed with air going through calibrated holes.

    Just install a new diaphragm in each pump.-----About the only thing that can go wrong.----Pumps are driven by crankcase pressure pulses.-----There may be issues there.----Post the CYLINDER compression test results here.-----That may offer a clue.

    To me it sounds awful.----Sounds like it is running on one cylinder.-----Post compression numbers.----And does spark jump a gap of 1/4" (7 mm ) or more on each lead ?----Check fuel pump diaphragm.

    Way, way back when , a boat shop that I frequented had some u-shaped brackets in a box.-----Gave them away with each motor that was sold or came in for repairs.------Just fit it into the holes for the tilt pin.----Swing it up and lock the motor on.

    Sorry----You have to be very clear in the description of your parts.-- Exhaust covers or intake covers are totally different.-----I am not there to see what you are doing.----I could overhaul that motor without a glance at a repair manual.

    Well those are intake covers.---Those 4 are NOT exhaust covers.----The exhaust cover is at the back in between the cylinder heads.

    Just be patient .----A buyer for your 115 HP ( if in fact like new ) will come along.-----There are some wise boat owners who will recognize value in that motor.

    Step #1 is to have a look at the water pump impeller.-----A golden rule is ---" Install a new impeller in a new to you boat motor "------Still amazing how many sellers will demonstrate that motor starts / runs and without cooling water to the impeller.

    So you installed a replacement powerhead ?---Did you determine the cause of the powerhead failure ?-----Did you inspect / trouble shoot all your old parts before installing on the rebuilt.-----Hopefully you do not cause the same issue again.

    Well----water is heavier than oil.----If there was water in the gear case it would come out the drain hole first.----If water came out the top it would indicate problems for sure.----What exhaust covers and how many of them did you remove so that you could see the crank and rods ?
