    Can you see that the driveshaft and propshaft are NOT at 90 degrees to each other ?----Transom on a boat is not plumb , it is normally around 12 degrees.----It is NOT straight up and down.------Your motor looks normal to me.

    Driveshaft does appear to be at an angle.----But propshaft appears to be horizontal.------Part of the way these motors were designed ?----I would call it normal per post #4

    I guess I have to repeat here.-----There are no mixture adjustment screws on a 1985 model 115 HP Evinrude !!----You need to find the correct manual !!

    Remove cylinder heads and inspect.----It is always cheaper to repair if you can do the work yourself.----Finding a dealer that will rebuild is not easy.-----At $100 it adds up quickly.------These crossflow motors are famous for broken piston rings.

    This sounds expensive.-----Next step is to remove cylinder heads.----Inspect cylinder walls.

    Installing a seal kit is a simple job on these.-----If it is a salt water motor it might be more work.

    Is the trim pin in the hole closest to the transom ??-----If it is it is normal.
