oil cooler or no oil cooler..... that is the question

working on my BBC build and have been vacillating with whether or not to add an oil cooler. the Gen VI block has two oil cooler ports in it and would make plumbing an oil cooler a breeze. I would put one in the supply hose to my crank mounted raw water pump, and have identified the oil cooler...

BBC build- Don't tell the Admiral

A bit more progress.... just scored a set of Stainless Marine manifolds for a bit more coin, i could have had either of these: the later two came off a 750hp 540 with a supercharger..... dont think my little 496 would make enough HP to matter. If it did, my outdrive wouldnt survive.

    Nelson Lake, Hayward Wisconsin

I'm convinced there are no fish in this lake. At least no walleye. The recent flooding may have passed them over the dam. Nephew left the crawlers in the sun... What a ripe smell. At least the Leinies are cold Headed to door county this friday for walleye fishing.

VP 740A engine damper (coupler) alternative

So I am still gathering parts for the BBC upgrade to the boat. I started looking at the dampers. my old SBC had a triangular damper plate retained with 3 screws. the VP 740's had a round unit with larger springs, retained by all 6 screws. That was P/N 856346 which is NLA. Does anyone know if...

Anyone ever successfully reason with your Admiral? Just venting

So, earlier this year, sold the SBC out of the boat to make funds for the BBC project. Admiral says, the boat could wait, need to spend a bit of $ on house issues. No problem, so we divert funds, paint the lanai, entry way, and spend a bit on college fees for the stepson. All good, tax return...
