This is the most ridiculous thing ever btw. The hardware was actually not as easy to source as you'd think. Nothing available locally, and I had to buy a lot of packs of 10 when I only needed one type of thing. Cost me a lot of time. You also need a new starter if you go this route, or need to...
I've pulled my boat out of the water using the following vehicles that I believe are rated for a combined 0#: Porsche Boxster, BMW 330ci, Mazda6 wagon, VW Golf Sportwagen. The RWD vehicles had no problems. Traction sometimes an issue on the FWD.
I've got the mechanical advance on mine (interesting that the newer models are mechanical) so haven't seen the electronic in person. It appears that only the set up timing is adjustable, which is not idle timing. The setup is 28' BTDC @3K rpm, and idle is 4'+/- 2' @ 750 rpm. Probably not going...
Is that with key in run position, or start? Sounds like you're grounding the port ignition system. Guessing you screwed up the wiring somewhere with the solenoid/starter replacement. What are the common electrical points between the engines?
Not sure what you're saying here. Is the "sensor" the oil pressure switch? If so, the purple wire should be hot with the ignition on. The purple/yellow wire to the switch and pump shouldn't have 12v unless the engine is running, cranking, or the op switch is jumped and ignition on. Note that #8...
Don't do this. Don't know what engine you have, but safer ways to try to turn the mirror over. Unclear from your description whether the starter is engaging the flywheel and then not turning the motor or if the Bendix isn't extending. More info about the motor and history would be helpful
