chrysler 700 skier 70 hp 1979. I've been adding oil to my tilt/trim regularly. I couldn't find a leak anywhere. Recently found the leak... I believe it is called the trim cylinder. There are 2 pistons which makes the motor go up and down. No problems there. There is a third cylinder that...

    Frozen steering

My steering was frozen today. I unscrewed the fitting that goes on to the steering tube. The shaft on that end slides in and out of the steering tube. On the other side, that shaft is stuck... frozen solid, I have removed it from the engine and the engine moves freely. I'm going to replace...

    Chrysler 70 hp won't start

1979 Chrysler 700 skier 70hp engine 709H79A. Ran fine a couple weeks ago. Went to start today, nothing. Choke engages, battery is fine. I can start it by jumping it accross the solinoid. Ignition key switch is a year old, but I will start there. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    70 hp alarm horn wiring

I disconnected my alarm horn for the temperature sensor and can't remember how to rewire it. The seloc manual looks like it is the orange wire (sending unit) and then the blue ignition wire... each go to either of the alarm horn wires. I have checked that the horn works. I have it set up...

Chrysler 70 hp... why does engine surge?

Carb temporary fix... need permanent solution.

Ok. Here's the deal... I have a 1979 chrysler 700 skier 70 hp with 3 Tillotson wb-26b carbs. I did a rebuild on the carb and stripped the threads where the fuel bowl retaining bolt goes... great! The thread size of the hole was 5/16. I tapped the hole to 3/8, cut a bolt to the same length and...

Electrical Question, I think... What am I missing here?

I bought a boat last summer because it fired right up and I wasn't looking for a project.... yeah, right! Anyway, the engine was running sound and starting easily. Over the winter I decided to gut it and redo the interior. Boat looks great now, but it was an electrical nightmare... previous...
