    Good advice. I think I might run into an issue if I have to grind the head off. I only have a couple inches lateral space to move the manifold out. I don't think I'll have enough space to get the manifold all the way off of the bolt.

    Yes, A1G1. As I said above, don't know if the shift shaft seals have ever been done, just bought the boat this spring. My guess is if they have been done it's been a while. Any tips on replacing the bushing and seal? Never done it before.

    That's what I thought. I called a shop today and the owner told me there is no reason the yoke seal should fail other than water in the outdrive. Is that accurate? Here is a pic of the gear oil after sitting for a day. It seemed to be a little lighter when it first came out but nothing crazy...
