    1957 Evinrude 5.5

I thought that was it but it will NOT go the last 1/6" to be able to move to the left. At least I'm on the right track. Thanks, Dave

    1957 Evinrude 5.5

OK, Feeling kinda stupid because I can't quite figure this out. I've been turning wrenches since grammer school and mechanically inclined so this is frustrating. I can't get anything to unlatch to tilt this motor. I see a couple different mechanisms in the leg that should/could do it, but...

Vintage Johnson dual line gas tank - fit Evinrude 5.5?

Greetings, This tank came in the 1957 12' skiff we bought. It appears to have the same connector as the 1959 Evinrude 5.5 that I got from the shed, indicating that perhaps this motor was on this boat. I was looking at the motor for a fuel pump but after looking at the tank, I guess the motor...

    Evinrude Fastwin values?

Thanks, much appreciated. Just about what my guess was. I'm in Eastern Washington, TriCities, West Richland. Boat crazy area with the Columbia River. Mostly high dollar wakeboarding or welded aluminum fishing. Don't see too many vintage anything out there. The old guy who collected these...

    1957 Evinrude 5.5

Thanks to all! Yes, 57 was my typo, Duh. I knew 59 as it is the same age as I am. Too far into the wee hours when I typed 57. I love parts breakdown diagrams, thank you.

    Evinrude Fastwin values?

I have the chance to acquire 4 of these 1950's Evinrude Fastwins, unknown condition, all close to the same but I don't have numbers off the other 3. Stored since 2008 or before. Just wondering what kind of value they might have? I see similar on ebay for parts around $100, running for $500-600...

    1957 Evinrude 5.5

This came with a small aluminum boat my son couldn't pass up. Stored for 8 years or more, previous owner had a stroke and can't tell us anything about it or the other motors. Wondering about it's value? Also first steps to testing it? Thanks, Dave

Ted Williams and Gamefisher both 7.5

In looking for a lightweight OB for our 16' Aire Cataraft, I acquired 2 of these Clinton powered Eska units.Normally a whitewater raft, I'm not ready for that so we are setting up for fishing. The frame can handle up to 10HP but weight is a big consideration so I figured these air cooled singles...

    Need info on Tohatsu M9.8A

Sea Rider, I was also hoping you would show up. I have already learned a lot from posts by you and Paul. And others but you two seem to pop up most often. Your carb advice is exactly what I was looking for, thanks! KM, not my area of expertise but I was hoping you are right about replacement...

    Need info on Tohatsu M9.8A

Looking at the carb, it looks more like a dirt bike carb than every other outboard carb I have seen. Everything on outboards look so foreign to me but this looks just like a small Mikuni or similar like off a Japanese 50 or 80 cc dirt bike. Is that my imagination? If so, not too worried about a...

    Need info on Tohatsu M9.8A

Thanks Paul. I was hoping you would answer. So is it just a big anchor or worth the effort to work on? I can probably trade it back for a 5.5 Evinrude, same story same condition, square not round housing, unknown year but needed 9.8HP more than 5.5. Thoughts?

    Need info on Tohatsu M9.8A

Greetings, I just acquired what is evidently a "vintage?" Tohatsu 9.8 2 stroke, Model M9.8A, Serial 23093 I have been searching without success for any info on that model. All I find in manuals or parts listings are M9.8B. Forum discussions all seem to be even newer C & D models. Does anyone...
