OK here’s my dilemma. I just got done putting a motor in my 1990 sea ray Sundancer, it is a 7.4 454 motor. If I dump gas in the carburetor it will fire up momentarily and then die of course, but for some reason I am maintaining 8 pounds of pressure at my carburetor from the fuel pump but it...

Also another area of concern, I am used to Sea-Doo JetSki’s where you cannot have the water running through the motor until the motor has started. Can I just turn the water on without starting the motor, will it do any damage?

Cooling engine - direct water hookup

OK I guess I left out a few important details. The outdrive has been removed from the boat, I just installed a new motor and I want to run it on the water so I can run it for a little bit so it doesn’t overheat. The impeller is mounted on the side of the motor, it is a bravo three outdrive. The...

Cooling engine - direct water hookup

If I want to hook up a garden hose directly to my motor, bypassing my impeller so I don’t burn it up, where would I hook it up to?

Also the plugs with the red paint on them came with the motor, the AC Delco’s were in the motor that I originally had in this. As you could see there is quite the difference in length along with the thickness of the hex head
