    Can You Wear This Shirt

There it is - punchcards! In our first college engineering classes, we used punchcards and FORTRAN 77, then it was an HP with RPN. I still miss RPN, and sometimes try to use it on my little hand-held computer (aka "phone").

VP 5.7 gsi - Temperature Rising

Rust and stuff in the cooling system? The risers on my "VP" V-8 had some in there when we put a new long-block in there a number of years back. After they were cleaned-up and reinstalled, the cooling-system in that boat worked great for quite some time.

Cool day on the river yesterday

The kids musta loved it, thanks for sharing! We had a great day out on 7th Lake in the Adirondacks with our son and wife running her Mom's boat out of their beautiful camp's boathouse on 7th lake, while our grandkids tubed. We stopped at "the beach", met some very nice people (we ended-up...

Same for us and the upper Niagara River/Lake Erie area - weather forecasts always watched closely to decide where to go for the day/night/etc

    Worst day

A common saying about the two best days of having a boat... I disagree.. the Admiral and I sold the 1998 25ft Wellcraft last week - very sad for me. Sure, she was a bunch of work, sure, but that's OK (especially with the help and support of the good people here). Now I'll focus on our other...

Bimini top seems to have shrunk

The order in which they're installed and ultimately snapped makes a difference. I wonder if the every couple years cleaning and spraying with water repellant has helped in this regard

You mentioned "remodeled it", maybe that added weight and changed 'er operating dynamics?

1973 Starcraft SuperSport 16ft. restoration questions

Many thanks to you and Joyce! Happy Dyngus Day (wish we had some ***** willows in our yard). We love Michigan, and now that I'm not employed (first day in over 40 years), going to go to our shared Family place in the Adirondacks this week to start getting that place, boats, etc. ready for more...

New boat owners leaving the hobby

yes, boating and life, neither are not easy - "nothing worth- it, is easy" (one of our Dad-isms that makes him part of us)

New boat owners leaving the hobby

Interesting article, I personally disagree with its last line "We have to find ways to show people that this is an option for them.” It's selfish, but I do not want to encourage many OTHER PEOPLE to be out on the water

Never saw that one, tanks for sharing. Have lived near TO for a long time, when this song came out, remember thinking that's familiar airport code

Fix here, or go all in...

I think so too. Ya, we had so much fun on our tri-hulls. Sounds like you go boating in familiar territory.

Retiring my most favorite nine-year-old Dell laptop

enjoy! the Admiral's croaked a few months ago, and she a got a new one - when my work-machine recently HAD TO have win 11, at least I was somewhat used to that OS...

Starting your car in this cold weather.

this part is great... "Try to start your car, which should be turned on no longer than 10-15 seconds" so, if it starts, turn it right back off...
