2002 Johnson 150 (Carb) Oiler Delete

I should add, that it's much more "convenient" to use the oil bottle for that fuel consuming lady and it's very reliable. The oil diaphragm is bathed in oil so it stays soft and supple, it's the fuel side that dies (easy replacement) and it floods the motor causing little to no harm. Lots of...

2002 Johnson 150 (Carb) Oiler Delete

No, it won't burn up the pump. Simple diaphragm that runs off a pulse. Make sure you premix your gas/oil to 50/1.

Wot onna 30hp johnson on the trailer

Agreed, should be easy to find a link...paying for one? Not needed. Test prop, test tank. Tanks are easy to find or easy to make....big, fan and some flaps. BE CAREFUL!

    1989 Johnson GT 200

Checking the fuel delivery system is always good but I'm not sure if it's needed. The ball not being tight could represent a problem but then again might not. Perhaps I can suggest this. Remove the spark plugs, and spin the motor and make sure there's no fuel inside. Reinstall and now you're...

Wot onna 30hp johnson on the trailer

Go make a small log boom and pull it around. Safer and you can buck it up for firewood. Most here know I have lots of logs around!

    1988 25hp Evinrude - No Start

Well congrats....those are very good little utilitarian outboards.. I have quite a few. Some observations though. It may not run so good after you put it on a boat and put it on a load but it seems to be running on all cylinders. When I look at your link and sync closely, and unless you've...

Wot onna 30hp johnson on the trailer

Yeah, most will not sign off on that in this forum. My uncle used to tie the boat to a dock to put it on a small load while doing other tests... The "do it yourself" test is out on the water with a partner but your little motor should not need that. Answer post number 3 for help. You have...

    Kicker Motor

Well circa 2015....my gas sipping E-tec ran out of fuel within site distance of my local marina...at night no less. My 4 stroke kicker was plugged into the main tank. My local dealer called it a Yamarude. After talking with the coast guard while my super grumpy friend came and saved my but, I...

Those E-tec's are super sippy. Unless it's changed, better fuel milage and pollution standards on any gas outboards.

    1988 25hp Evinrude - No Start

Race nailed it...I just reminded you. Wires coming from power pack are orange with blue or green strips. Blue (sky), goes to upper coil...green (grass) goes to lower. Or leave it now that you swapped leads. (Not) Other wires like trim and tilt are the same.

Seems you never checked the ignition coil to power pack connections. Swap plug wires to check as Mr Racer has suggested.

    Kicker Motor

Well any 80's JohnnyRude 8 HP would work just fine for that setup unless your in the ocean and it would fish just fine there two, but...if you have to buy new and you want the 9.9 then I'd say Merc is the way to go. American, new and matches you big motor. Should be an easy pick.

Ruh-Roh… a new gear case may be in order

Not sure the moderators will let this roll but nice job on the shop...should definitely be all kinds of fun when done. Being winter moderators are being pretty kind. Thanks for the report.
