Winterizing, use E-0 stabilized gas or install shut off valve and run carb out of fuel?

It (carb) will dry out just sitting there. I put stabil in my tank starting Labor Day so it pulls through the system. I do this with both my boat (carb/ ethanol Free) and jetski (injected/ E10) never had an issue fuel wise with either, nor seen any chit in the fuel filters. Generally I fog but...

Running New Style Merc 6.2L DTS on a Pallet ???

If you have to remove the DTS rigging anyways that would be easiest to run it out of the boat. Or are you keeping it for use with merc outboards? or does it not work that easy...

    Gm 4.3 blocks

the 090M (m for metric) has metric fasteners on the starter, flywheel cover, and side motor mount holes. Don't ask me why GM mixed metric and SAE on the same block I swapped a 090M 4.3 in my boat for a 5.0 that has all SAE fasteners- was no big deal about $45 worth of bolts. All the accessory...

    Stalling, sudden low idle.

If you don’t have them get the factory manuals for both engine and drive. Has great info and procedures for stuff like doing the bellows. i bought used ones off ebay

    New engine installation

there is no crushed area that is the casting of the OF housing. If you are talking about the oval looking hole near the tag, that’s actually a round hole that goes through the bellhousing flange on back of block.its just at a 90 deg angle to camera .

    Stalling, sudden low idle.

Plugs look a little rich but definitely in the normal range. did you adjust the throttle cable or idle speed screw or both?the throttle cable should be long enough that when you set the idle speed screw to what rpm you want with The throttle cable off the carb Throttle lever. Once idle is set...

    New engine installation

Top hole is not used. Bottom hole goes into oil pressure gallery. On my mercruiser this has a T for the oil pressure switch and the oil pressure sender. I think it’s 1/8” npt, if not that it’s 1/4”npt. If you don’t have any senders or switches to go in just plug it with a pipe plug

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

As bondo states holding the gasket and cover vertical may be a pain. You could either put bolts in it to hold the gasket or glue the gasket to the cover with RTV or gasket adhesive, let that set up then put it on. You can always try it with the dizzy in place and take it out only if needed...

    Stalling, sudden low idle.

I would verify your fuel pressure is ok and the regulator is still working ok. usually there is a gauge port on the regulator. Would also look down the bores to see if fuel is dripping off the boosters at idle. If present this would mean the fuel bowl is overflowing due to high fuel pressure or...

    Is this engine oil good?

Most of the issues you see now flat tapped issues are new cams during break In. What people (resonably smart YouTube channels) is the cams and lifters are not machined correctly. Inconsistent or lacking taper to cam lobe and convex lifter bottom. Any oil quality or metalurgy issues are on top of...

X2 on the floating dock. i installed a drive on mat from these guys https://gulfstreamdocks.com/ for my brothers 17 ft power cat. It just a bigger version of what you use for a jetski. where it might work for you is it’s made out of rectangular blocks that are held together with cam lock pins...

2012 3.0L TKS runs great with muffs, but slow on lake...

easiest way to tell is crack your gas cap open if it is under vacuum then your vent is plugged, and if you open it it will remove the restriction getting fuel out of a tank under vacuum
