What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

This dealer-added switch is in addition to the factory 3-position switch? Most things are wired directly to battery on mine, but the gauges are wired to ignition. They're off when the key is off.

What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

My bowrider has this one digital gauge. It seems to be a depth gauge but the readings don't make much sense. There's a toggle switch labeled "Depth" that has momentary-center-momentary function and I have no idea how it operates. Can someone who's familiar please clue me in?

    I should add a 2nd battery...

I've had one in the back of my suvs for at least 10 years with no issues. I know about the concerns but have had no storage problems.

    I should add a 2nd battery...

I have always run 2 batteries in my pontoon, with a Perko switch. I've never needed the #2. I'm always wondering IF I ever need it will it be ready. I charge & test it fully in the spring before putting it in the boat, then ignore it the rest of the season. I don't have shore power at my dock.

    I should add a 2nd battery...

THIS is my situation. Boat is tied to my dock 200 feet away and has a 1 year old starting battery. No starting problems in the 2 weeks I've owned it. My only concern is the bilge pump running the battery down. The #2 battery could probably be the smallest starting battery available. Or a...

    I should add a 2nd battery...

This can be either very simple or it can get involved. Without getting into the depths of yacht battery banks & charging systems... How have you added a 2nd battery to your small-medium boat, and did you also add the means to automatically keep it charged?

    Let's talk skill...

Thank you! That's a refreshing change from "cheap pos Bayliner" I've been hearing.

Idle speed is 650 once warmed up. About 1000 cold.

Fusion radio flaky & freezing up

Zero problems out on the water yesterday. Radio even played thru restarts. I'm considering replacing the el-cheapo fuse block with a better one. What's the opinion on covered/uncovered? Does covered invite trouble by trapping moisture? This boat doesn't sit on a trailer--it stays in the water...

Fusion radio flaky & freezing up

I'm not ready to put this in the "Success" column. I'm hopeful.

Fusion radio flaky & freezing up

So what I did today was this: I hooked a long wire to the battery and measured the voltage drop on the + wire and the - wire... end to end. It was about 15mA on one and 2x that on the other... Radio playing at lowish volume. That seemed normal for a ~12 foot run. Connections at the battery were...

Fusion radio flaky & freezing up

I couldn't get it to act up today. Damned thing KNOWS when I have a meter ready. Lol

    4.3 diesling

I know it's a thing. I just haven't heard it suggested in about 30 years.

Fusion radio flaky & freezing up

Thank you. And to reiterate: sometimes it works fine. Nothing is burned out (like an internal regulator circuit). It just does this quite allot and requires I remove the fuse to reset it. A major PITA. This is the 2nd Fusion radio to act like this so my assumption is there's something not...

May I practice this on your car first?

Fusion radio flaky & freezing up

I replaced the old JVC am-fm-cd radio in my 2000 Bayliner with a Fusion MS-RA70 so I could have Bluetooth and a brighter display. I love this radio but it keeps intermittently freezing on the "Fusion" screen on power-up and I have to pull the fuse to get it to respond again. It will also reset...

    4.3 diesling

I'm now stopping & letting it idle for a minute before shutting off. No dieseling. I'm running ordinary 87 or 89 pump gas. No marina on my 600 ac lake and not many stations in a reasonable distance. It's ½hr drive to closest station with non-ethanol gas but it's $1+ more per gallon and I see...

    4.3 diesling

It might just be that. It's normal? It doesn't diesel after I idle back to my dock. Only out on the lake when I shut it down after cruising awhile, or running hard.
