Who makes BPS rods and reels?

A buddy of mine and I have a debate going. He says Bass Pro Shops makes all of their own rods and reels. I say they don't, but that they contract the work out since they don't have any production facilities to make this kind of stuff. What is the answer?

    XD-50 or XD-100 for '94 Vindicator 200?

Out of the XD-50 or XD-100 which would be better for my engine? It's a '94 Vindicator E200STLER, and I usually run it at WOT 90% of the time. I realize the XD-50 is a Synthetic Blend while the XD-100 is a full synthetic required for newer ETEC engines. Would it benefit my engine to run the...

Fuel/Oil Residue Throughout Front of Engine.

As an update to this thread http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=222131 I went 'poking' around the engine a little while ago. I found a lot of fuel/oil mix saturated in the tape holding the hoses together outside the front of the engine cover. I pulled the tape apart, and found a gummy...

As previously stated in this post http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=222131 I am having problems with my 'No Oil' horn sounding when I get up to 5200 RPMs. In lieu of being laid up with 'Feet Dry' tomorrow, I need to get out on the water for a little Striper fishing tomorrow since...

    2 Problems with '94 Vindicator 200

I have a couple of problems that I want to run by you guys first before taking it into the shop on Monday. At this point I am tired of messing with it, and want to have someone fix it for me since I've spent more time actually fixing the boat and replacing parts than I've been on it lately...

Anyone Use 'Turbo Lube' Oilers for their hubs?

I came across this site while doing a search. "http://www.tiedown.com/aturbo.html" Supposedly people are pretty pleased with their system, and are switching from the old 'bearing packing' days. Has anyone here used them? It relies on an oil bath system instead of the standard grease that may...

Carlisle Radial Trail Vs. Goodyear Marathon

Are either of these tires ok? What are your complaints or experiences with either of them? The reason I ask is that I ordered 3 Goodyear Marathons for my trailer on Monday. Today I got in 3 Carlisle Radial Trail tires instead of the Goodyear Marathons. The dealer went ahead and GAVE me the 3...

Boating Charging Question for the Pros.

I finally talked to the previous owner of my boat today, and he told me he had something rigged up that allowed him to charge the 2 - 12v batteries through the trolling motor plug in. He was short on time, and couldn't go into detail with me, but that is all he told me. The boat is a '95...

    Trailer Bearing Replacement.

My trailer has Bearing Buddy IIs all the way around. Does this eliminate my need to replace the bearings? I know to keep the indicator out since that is a pressure regulator type thing, but do I ever have to change them? When I jack up each side I can freely spin the tires on the side jacked...

    Odd & Rare Trailer issue

I have a '94 EZ Loader Custom Tandem trailer made for Skeeter. I have 3 questions to ask, so please bear with me. :) 1. Today I got a flat coming back from the lake. So, first thing I notice is that the tire looks like one of those Turbines on top of your house. It is fanned out in a...

    Rectifier Issue '94 200 Vindicator

'94 200 Vindicator Model E200STLERK Will a bad rectifier cause an abnormal high use of oil from my reservior? Will it also cause erratic engine idling? Finally, will it prevent my batteries from charging up to 12.5 v?

    Keeping the 'Gremlins' at bay

Do you guys know of a way to keep the Gremlins at bay and away from your boat? I know a lot of you aren't superstitious, but I have learned to be over the past year and a half. After a very good friend died in a boating related accident after renaming his boat I have become more and more...

    Bar-B-Que Grate ... what metal?

I'm going to be welding together a bar-b-que grill within the next couple of days. It will be less conventional than most of them you see, because this one will have a fire ring at the bottom for my fire to go. It will have a steel rod on either side with horseshoes welded at the top for a spit...

Wiring Advice Needed for 24v Trolling Motor.

Can You Build a Fiberglass Hull From Scratch

A buddy of mine who works at a local body shop brought up an interesting topic tonight that no one knew the answer to. Is it feasible for an every day 'Joe' like you and I to make a mold, spray it with a release agent, and mold a fiberglass hull in our own back yard? I've seen it done on...

    Need A Welder's Opinion.

I've decided to pick up welding as a thing to learn. There are several things that I need to have done, and after a buddy of mine gave me an estimate of $600 to do all of the work for me I decided to go out and learn how to weld. Other than my Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology I have...
