    Trim pump start up

So...hopefully coming to the end of my engine re install...which is in and everything seems to power up, started motor but have a leak in my steering cooler which is a whole other thread....so last things on my list are to fix the cooler and get the trim rams hooked back up and put the props on...

    :Power steering sensor issue

I can probably handle that OK...is there anything below the hole that a drill would hit as I need to clean out/size the hole for tapping? Will the shavings pass out of the system OK? Install a fitting like this? Or more like a threaded bushing like you suggested to be soldered?

Engine Alignment and rear engine mount bolt and washers

I am having a heck of a time lining my motor back up. I have engine serial number 0w038097 and out drive 0w251759. I have spent two days of the last two weekends tediously raising and lowering the front engine mounts trying to get that alignment bar to slide in easily, the two finger slide as I...

achris here is a picture of it as well....I'm looking on a parts book and it also confirms the bottom is a full flow with riser and closed cooling so if you know something different please let me know....

    Exhaust Elbows

Thanks Chris- Here are some pictures so maybe that will help...sure don't want to buy the wrong stuff that's for sure. 3" on the risers sounds about right...

    Exhaust Elbows

Well, about to the end of my saga, transom assembly is back on my Rinker 270 with no leaking so ready to put my motor back in. I'm closed cooling on my 350 MPI motor. The risers really do not look bad at all, very minimal corrosion. On the elbow, where the boot goes over is badly corroded and...

trim hoses bravo III and manifod

So, the only way I could get the hoses on was to reverse them- the gray hose has a longer bend like it is supposed to go over the bend on the back hose. This diagram clearly shows hose number 3, the gray going to the back or beige side of the manififold which makes not sense as the black one...

trim hoses bravo III and manifod

so what is merc thinking with this design? With my gimbal rebuild, I'm replacing the two main hoses that go from the manifold to the pump. How in the F*&K are you supposed to be able to get the two ends that go on the manifold on? Could they maybe have made the hole a little bigger so the two...

    engine and out drive installation...

So, got that ordered last night....in the bag of parts for my inner transom plate I have two of these washers....they do not fit on any of the studs for the mounting of it, the impression of the nut you can see seems to match up to one of the nuts but there are only two....I tried to bag stuff...

    engine and out drive installation...

Well, to add to the confusion, I look again and there IS that coil washer....I'm totally mistaken. The only reason I would think you would want that there is so that you can adjust the front mounts, gives the motor a pivot point if you will to go up and down with out binding on the mount? They...

    engine and out drive installation...

ah....I don't have that double wound lock washer....here is my set up ow251759 engine serial number.....so the bolts were still in the motor.....there was the bolt, a fiber washer and the spacer- when I look at the parts detail for this serial number, none of the descriptions say fiber washer...

    engine and out drive installation...

So, I'm getting close to getting back in the water after what a year and a half....I have the rebuilt transom assy ready to go back on and will bring the boat home I hope tomorrow and install that on Sunday. I had a leak through the seal on the gimbal ring. So, I'm going to install the transom...

    Shift cable seal

here is a bravo shift cable kit- it has what looks like a cable, a nut and seal that goes on from the housing side. On the inside, there is a slot that the hex shape of the cable rests in so you can tighten the nut.

where does this go, if anywhere??

I think what your looking at there is an actual metal washer- there is an indent in the bell housing for that to go in. item number 3 which is pn 12-41721 and I had ordered one of these...just ordered another. These are pretty thin, I believe there was a backing on one side that I did not...

    Shift cable seal

Where the shift cable matches up to the back side of the bell housing, is there any sort of seal there? Seems like there should be....or just goop it up with that perfect seal and call it a day?

where does this go, if anywhere??

So, the disadvantage of taking something apart and so long in getting it back together- I do bag/label in excess but there is some stuff that I just tell myself I'll remember where that goes. That just never works that way does it? I just about have the transom assembly back together and...
