The garage was a total mess and had been for a long time. I won't say how it happened, but he's moved out now. :ROFLMAO:
My wife and I had planned on going out that morning to get the garage cleared out enough to get the boat back inside to be worked on.

In spite of our best efforts over a couple of days, we weren't able to remove the jack plate ourselves. So, I took the boat over to my friend's house and made short work of the task. 😄

I had an acquaintance who acquired a sunken 54' Bluewater for only $4k which had sunk at a marina. He had it recovered, then brought to his place which was nearby the marina.
He had about 20 acres to work on it and over a couple years completely repaired and restored it to better than new...
The reason that we don't buy new boats is that we don't have the money to afford them. Whatever size/type/style we're talking about.

Jack plates were deleted and sold. The engine is properly mounted and the hydraulic system is set up and working.
I'd hoped to splash this weekend, but I want to have the trolling motor fully operational...
We're working on it. Budget and logistics is an issue for both of us. He'd gotten a round trip fare for $88 and was going to use it to meet up with me and the bud who passed a couple weeks ago. But, it was too late. Right now we're shooting for October, closer to the end of hurricane season...
My friends and I were always really good about keeping in close touch. Phone, texting, email and internet helped a lot. I keep in daily touch with my daughter as well. But sometimes, time just runs out. 😐
My remaining old guy buddy (I'm 71 and he's 74) have known each other for 44 years...
Yeah, I carry my phone with me everywhere I go, "just in case." I was lucky that my wife had hers within earshot this time. Most times she doesn't. :sneaky:
For me, it's a risk to do any work alone. But, ya gotta do whut ya gotta do. 🙃
