I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

While out and about chasing down furniture for my home project, I also picked up these trolling motor connectors for the Kingfisher. Got 'em on craigslist for 15 bucks. Saved some money there! It'll be sometime after the New Year before I get around to installing them. Not exactly sure...

    Some good stuff happening

Yeahh... I know. Been so busy that I haven't had time to get the stuff outta the KF and rearranged in the garage. But I did send the garage speakers back! They just couldn't perform on the bottom end. Sigh. Me likes me bass! :blue: My daughter arrives from up north tomorrow for a 6 day...

    Need some furniture repair advice

Yesterday we picked up this used solid oak microwave cart from craigslist. The price had been $100 for several days then suddenly dropped to $25 so we jumped on it. It's a good sized unit and will work well for our application. Picked it up after dark and didn't notice any damage... until one...

    '69 offshore rebuild- BMerr

These aluminum boats use the deck, stringers, ribs, gunnels etc. and the hull skin to provide structural integrity. The foam provides no strength at all. Most on here don't use the poured foam. And as ezmobee said, the pool noodles are iffy. Adding aluminum cross members would help provide even...

    Some good stuff happening

I know, I know. Gotta watch having storage out there. But all that stuff is actually mine! Much of it is related to my RC airplane hobby (which I've now left behind other than a couple of uncompleted planes) and lots of miscellaneous hardware and tools. Once I get some shelves up, most of that...

    Some good stuff happening

Okay, I totally scrapped the idea of installing a semi-permanent paver block patio inside the garage and took all the blocks back for a refund this morning! A week ago I was thinking that I needed more than 40 blocks so the next day the boy and I went back to HD and picked up an additional 20...

    Some good stuff happening

Here's the hobby room as it is tonight. Tomorrow we have to get the junk out, move the tables and hutch in and arrange everything. Might need to buy a small carpet for under the table too. Most of that stuff is tools and supplies, including piles of boat stuff that aren't visible in the...

    Some good stuff happening

So we picked up this dining room set and China hutch off craigslist today. Asian themed antique stuff and it is HEAVY wood. Anybody know what it is? Mahogany maybe? (Pix are from the craigslist ad.) The dining table itself is 44"x 66" and has to easily weigh between 150 - 200 pounds! Came...

    Some good stuff happening

More garage and home related progress today! :D We put in a full 9 hours of work today. Literally. We're exhausted! Whew! :tongue-new: Yes, it's all indirectly related to boat work! We're turning my hobby room in the house into a dining room. Small house. 900' squared. The "new" dining...

    1971 Starcraft Mariner 18-foot

This is how I did the foam replacement in my Kingfisher. It's home insulation foam paneling. The blue color is from covering the stern pieces with HDPE trash bags which provides fuel proofing.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Took the KF out fishing today and have decided that I want to replace the trolling motor. It doesn't fit the boat well (sticks up too high) and isn't powerful enough at only 28 lbs. thrust. The breeze was only about 8mph but it was pushing the boat around easily even though I was on max power...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

What's the best way to remove these dead snaps? I can unscrew the male side but do I just drill through the female side like it was a rivet? I don't want to booger up the fabric.
