    I suspect once installed the bolts will never be removed similar to the hylocks used in aircraft of old. The head of the nut broke off at a predetermined torque..

    I think putting some AF in would be better even if it doesn't drain out, at least it might keep any water left from freezing.

    Thought you said coin was not to be involved in the discussion, doing the work it would take yourself you might break even at 10 cents an hour.

    The wood in the transom is wet,it swelled up and cracked the gel. If you like the boat then rebuild it.

    I think the transom is rotten.
