Just don't get ballsy with it and take it on the freeway. You may feel in control but any sudden change to avoid an obstacle and then the boat takes over...
They do but the cash outlay can sometimes be spread so It doesn't hurt so bad. I've never bought a new boat, can't afford it, but I can prioritize the shortcomings of the old boat and hopefully keep it going awhile.
If it's anything like my old 27 there's very little space between the hull and inner liner. The only reason to cut it would be to back up a motor mount. IMHO
