Update on the lower unit weld! Took it in yesterday to a professional welding company and they had a guy there that specialized in welding boats. He said it would be no problem. So a few hours later and only $20 he had it done.

Hello, I have a 1984 mercury 18xd that i just recently purchased. The lower unit has a 5 inch crack on the bottom. Iv heard that welding it will work and iv also heard that jb weld works as well? Any suggestions?
Hello, I have a 23 foot pontoon boat that i use for duck hunting. Iv heard that filling them with foam is a great way to go when your using it in rough conditions. How might i go by filling them? What can i use? any tips? :confused:
Hello, I have a 1984 mercury 18xd motor that is missing a cover seal. I cannot find the seal for this motor. Is there any other seal that will work for this motor? Or is there something i can use to make a seal for it? Thanks!!
I have a late 70s suzuki that seems to start up decent. but every once in a while is will spit pretty bad. Sometimes it will cause the motor to shut off. Is there any easy way to fix this? I changed the spark plugs, and am running sea foam through the gas.
