Re: Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls Hi Nordin, I PM you my email address. On the same subject. I took the switch out of the Force 35 and examined the wiring. And I re-examined the Force 50 switch. I'm not sure of the exact connection in the switch, but they should be...

Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls

Re: Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls I could not get the key switch removed from the Force 35. How do you remove the shift lever? Anyways, I was able to see how the key switch is wire. Start - Yellow, goes to 'S' Choke - Green, goes to 'C' Positive (Red) & Stop 2 (Blue) goes...

Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls

Re: Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls I did not get a chance to remove the Force 35 key switch. However, I did take a picture of it. It appears that on the Force 35, the purple, black, and orange are not connected. Those are labeled as tachometer, stop, and overheat. The...

Re: Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls I crawled under the dash to see the switch and everything else. Purple and Blue seems to connect to 'I' at key switch. The two 'M' at the key switch for mine seems to be empty .

Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls

Re: Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls I think the CDI box is ok. I got real worried after your reply and went down and wired it with the original Force 35 controls. It took a few minutes and I had to squirt some gas into the carb to fire it up but it did run. I have to get...

Please Help wire Force 35 using Force 50 Controls

With Jerry's help, I finally bolted my new, used, Force 35 on my Bayliner. One slight problem now and that is the controls. I am using the Force 50 controls with the Force 35. I thought they were exactly the same but they're not. Go figure. The Force 50 has the following control wiring on...

Force 35 OB has no mounting Clamps?

Re: Force 35 OB has no mounting Clamps? I finally got the hardware, drilled, and installed the motor. I used 1/2 in. X 6 in. with nylon lock nuts. Works pretty well. The drilled holes lined up pretty much exactly where the clamps for the old Force 50 use to clamp. By the way, in the...

Force 35 OB has no mounting Clamps?

Hello Everyone, So I'm on my merry way swapping out my old Force 50 with a Force 35. I have one minor concern regarding the mounting bracket for the Force 35. It doesn't have clamps. On my Force 50, it's held on the transom with some bolts and two clamps. The Force 35 does not have the...

    How interchangable are parts between a 1987 Foce 50 and a 1991 Force 35

I have a 1987 Force 50, which overheated and I'm trying to replace it with a 1991 Force 35. What are you thoughts on keeping the Force 50 as a parts motor for the 35? The power head between the two looks quite different. I'm not sure if the lower unit are compatible. What do you think?

Force 35 for 50 OB Motor Swap Control Question

Hello Everyone, In my earlier threads I've mentioned that my Force 50 overheated. I decided to swap out the 50 with a Force 35. I have some questions about the controls between the two motor: * I want to minimize the work in the swap and was wondering if I can use the original Force 50...

Re: 1991 Force 35 Fuel Pump - doesn't match parts list It looks like there's groves at each port for o-rings. I'll try to see what I can find that would fit it.

1991 Force 35 Fuel Pump - doesn't match parts list

Hello Everyone and thank you for reading my thread. I bought a used 1991 Force 35 with the hope of fixing it up. The previous own says that the fuel pump started leaking after he added some bad gas in the tank and then subsequently tried to rebuild the pump. Before buying the motor, he did...

    Fuel pump same for a '91 35HP and '87 50HP?

Hi everyone and thank you for reading my OP. Can someone please tell me if the fuel pump for a 1987 Force 50 will fit in a 1991 Force 35HP. The reason I ask is because, as you know from my earlier thread, my 50HP is toast and I saw a 1991 35HP, which needs a new fuel pump. I'm thinking of...

1971 Johnson Super Sea Horse 40 HP with starting trouble after stop

Hi Everyone. I'm looking to buy a fixer-upper outboard and found a 1971 Johnson Super Sea Horse 40 HP. The problem is that it starts and runs and idles, but once you turn it off it has trouble starting until it cools down a little. Normally, I would say the problem is the carb. But that...

How much do you think a 1974 Evinrude 85 HP is worth, and other questions?

A couple of weeks ago my Force 50 overheated, http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=575958. In testing and discussions with very helpful members of this forum, it seems that the pistons and rings might be fried. So I've tossing around the idea of either rebuilding the Force 50 or buying...

    1987 Chrysler Force 50 (507X7B) - overheated/dead & need to fix

I bought a '87 Bayliner with a Force 50 (Model 507X7B). What is the difference between this model and 507X87B? Both are 50 HP. Not knowing 'anything' about these engines, I did the best I could to check it out. I put the lower unit in the tub of water, started it, and water was coming out of...

Neptune WC-1 Mightly Mite - Advice needed

I bought an old Neptune WC-1 Mightly Mite. It was sort of working and I began to tinker and restore it. I'm having two issues and I'm hoping some seasoned people here can help with some advice. 1 - I cannot get the motor to start if I put the prop all the way in the water. What I mean is that...

    Evinrude Sportwin 3.3 Manual(s) needed

Hello Everyone. I'm a newby in the outboard scene but love working on small antique motors; snow blowers, mopeds, et al. That being said, I just bought myself an Evinrude Sportwin. From searching around, it looks to be a 3.3 HP from the early 50's. I'm going to confirm this later when I get...
