    Ford to Chevy Shiftplate Relocation

Neither risers have bolt holes in the side. Both these pics are of the starboard side.

    Ford to Chevy Shiftplate Relocation

Whoa! That's a really small pic. What am I looking at here. Be kind, all this is new Greek to me but I'm learning. I was asking about the shift linkage bracket and you answered me about upgrading my trim pump. Not to sound ignorant but what is the correlation between the trim pump and the shift...

    Ford to Chevy Shiftplate Relocation

Good to know allDodge, I believe the one I have is designed to mount to the transom. That may be good news aside from the fact that I have limited space. I've removed both risers and that gives me realistically almost 50% more access to the aft end of the motor bay, to access the transom.

    Ford to Chevy Shiftplate Relocation

I've replaced the Ford 351 in my ’76 24-ft Fiberform with a Chevy 5.7. I'm lost in figuring out how to mount my shift plate for the linkage. Does anyone have any pictures of the plate on their 5.7? The first pic is my actual shift plate. The second pic is a stock photo that better shows my...

    ISO Fuel Gauge

Can anyone direct me to a source for the fuel gauge for my boat? It's a 24-ft, '76 Fiberform. I've pulled, cleaned and tested the sender and it's fine. There's power at the plug, but I'm getting nothing on the gauge. There's 15 gallons in the tank. Unless I need to add more fuel, I need to find...

    5 Freeze Plugs Missing

I have a 351 Windsor in my '97 Fiberform. This boat sat for more than 2 years before I bought it a few months ago. I got the trim water pump rebuilt and the engine running fine with the exception of getting warm pretty fast. Upon further examination, 5 of the 6 freeze plugs are gone. I can get...

    Removing Fuel from Tank

I just bought a 24ft 1976 Fiberform. It's been 2 years since it was licensed and run. I need to remove the bad fuel that's in it. This being my first I/O (351 Windsor), how do I go about doing that? The gauge doesn't work so I have no idea how much is in there. There also are no batteries in the...

1973 Reinell Project - Advice Appreciated!

Hi Folks! This is my very FIRST attempt at boat restoration. I picked up this boat and EZ-Load trailer for $150. I figured if all is a loss, at least the trailer is worth that, right? The title lists it as a 20-foot, 1973 Reinell RV2050. I have no idea what was wrong with the motor as it has at...

    Hooking Up Shift Linkage

For those who haven't seen my earlier posts this week on my 1988 Force 35HP motor, I've completely removed and disassembled the lower end and installed a new yoke, O-ring and seal kit and impeller. I should have taken pic of the shift hex nut on the shift linkage before I removed the lower end...

Proper Installation of Prop Shaft 35HP Force 1988 Issue

I originally had another thread going but figured to move to a new thread with a different issue. I first needed to replace the impeller. Did that and then went to check lube and it was milky. After putting in a new seal kit, I didn't hook up the linkage properly and ended up tearing the hell...

    Shift Lever

Okay, I have a question. I have a 35hp Force motor that was built in 1988, The motor was overheating so I set out to replace the water pump. The water pump was pretty straight-forward and easy to do. I went to check the lubricant and unfortunately it was very milky. So when I went to get the...
