Moorage costs?

Just curious to know what people are paying for moorage in different areas. I pay around $205 a month if I sign a 1 year deal. My boats a 26' but I need a 28' slip. I had to wait for a few months but this is the cheapest moorage I could find.

    Be safe

I can't find the article to link to but there was an awful boating accident here on Saturday. At the local ski beach two boats were running parallel to each other, a 24' Cigarette and a 19' open bow 'something'. It was witnessed by dozens of people watching from the shore right in front of where...

    Mamamia I'm sore

I spent yesterday out tubing and generally fartin' around on the water with a bunch of friends and family. I haven't tubed in years so I went every chance I got. My arms are 4" longer and awfully sore today. Those tubes really get moving when you're out in the 'whip'! Half a dozen high speed...

    Engine hours

In a cruiser style of boat, how many hours do y'all think a gas engine (V8 Merc) should last if it gets proper maintenance.
Most often a 1800 - 2000 rpm slow cruise.
Occasional 3500 rpm fast cruise.
WOT for tuning only.
There's lots of variables I know but this is just a...

    Survey again?

I'm buying a 26 Tollycraft Sedan Bridge. It was surveyed by a reputable outfit in Jan. 2003 and it's lived in a boathouse since then. The report reads that all's well so I called the fella that did the survey and asked him about it and he said it was great. I'm a firm believer in surveys but a...

    Merc. trim/tilt reservoir

Does anyone have a picture of a 1968 model of this little sucker. I can't see where to add the fluid... it's tucked away in a 'hard to see' place. The reservoir must be integral... and from what I can tell you need a magic wand to put fluid in it!
Thanks!
:)

    New challenges coming soon?

After reading the Walmart thread I got thinking. I've been in a union position with our local waterworks as a lead-hand for 10 years now. I'm very fortunate to have an intelligent, productive and motivated crew that makes my job easier now than ever before. The problem is that I'm having trouble...

    Bertram boats

I have an option to buy a 20' Moppie. It needs a new engine (cracked block) and some major TLC. It's a bit of a disaster actually. However, it is structurally sound (I couldn't find any rot) and noone has ever drilled a bunch of holes to mount stuff in it. I'm thinking about buying and just...

To survey or not to survey?

    Survey.
Listen to this one...
I found a 'the' boat I'm looking for. It's a 1994 27' Monterey. I am, without a doubt, one picky son of a gun when it comes to pretty well anything. This boat was a mid 9 as far as the exterior/interior goes (there is no 10). It was dry stored 7 months a...

    Monterey boat owners?

ok... this isn't a mid life crisis thing, it's about fuel economy and how much time I have to go boating. My 26' Tolly was a great boat but it's time for a change. It was expensive (thirsty) to run up on plane so I cruised around at displacement speeds (7 or 8 mph)... meaning I was always the...
