    Enough horsepower?

That's my concern. But if the 110 can pull a (slalom) skier then I'd be content. And will not have had to put out any cash.

    Enough horsepower?

    They're both 1992-93 2-strokes, fwiw.

    Enough horsepower?

I won't even be bothering with the deal until I have an idea if going from 70hp to 110hp is worth the effort vs waiting for a deal on a 140hp.

    Enough horsepower?

I do know how to evaluate and maintain/repair engines. But I'm new to boating. Assuming good engines, will I notice a huge difference from 70hp to 110hp to 140hp on a 1,670 lb. tri-hull fiberglass deck boat?

    Enough horsepower?

Of course. Thank you. Actually, I won't do the deal unless I get a demo. on his boat. And vice-versa.

    Enough horsepower?

This barge weighs a lot more than aluminum. ;-) It does sound (to my ear) like I should be getting more RPMs at full throttle. Even when I'm solo and planing. The tach. isn't working so I guess I should buy a hand-held and do some testing to see where I'm at. But I still think I'm gonna need...

    Enough horsepower?

I've got a 1993 Hurricane deck boat that's 17'6" and 1,670 lbs. It has a 2-stroke 70hp outboard on it. It will plane with 2 people on board but not with 3. It can take up to 140hp. I have a chance to trade my 70hp even for a 110hp with a guy that says he wants a smaller engine on his bass boat...

Throttle cable connector part # ?

Was fishing the other day and decided to fire up and move to another part of the lake. I moved the lever forward and it did nothing. The engine just sat there idling. Tried reverse. Same thing. I opened the engine cowl and both cables were disconnected. I don't know why the shift lever came end...

Faulty fuel sender or fuel gauge?

The fuel gauge on my boat wasn't working when I bought it. I got through last summer fine without it but it would be nice to have it working. Replacing the gauge or wires would certainly be easier than the sending unit. How to test if the gauge or wires are the problem? If it is the sending...

    Stand-alone tilt/trim pump

I finally got this pump sealed up. I had replaced the 4 top o-rings before I knew there were 4 others on the other side. It still leaked. When I got the additional o-rings for the other side and took it apart again I saws that 2 of the 4 that I had replaced were very deformed/damaged. I'm not...

    Stand-alone tilt/trim pump

I did alternate while tightening the bolts but did not check torque. That would be pretty tough to do. Using sealant might be some help. I didn't see any evidence of there being any before, though. Thanks for that info.

    Stand-alone tilt/trim pump

Thanks for the diagram. I replaced the four o-rings #2 in Figure 5 above the plate #3. O-rings #4,5,7 looked pretty flat. I wasn't even sure if they were o-rings because they were so flush with the top of the control valve. I guess I will replace them. But the leak definitely appears to be above...

    Stand-alone tilt/trim pump

Thanks for the reply. The plate has 4 holes in a row that line up with the 4 o-rings on the reservoir body. The hole diameters go from @ 1/4" at the 1st hole down to a pin hole on the last. And, if I remember right, the plate can only be installed one way.

    Stand-alone tilt/trim pump

I just read this one again. When I took the bolts out I looked at the top of the control valve and the ports? had odd shaped grooves around them (diamonds, etc). I looked at the bottom of the reservoir body and it had 4 round grooves with o-rings. So I replaced those 4. And it appears to be...

    Stand-alone tilt/trim pump

So I replaced the four O-rings with Quicksilver part # 25-48171. Only 1 of the old ones looked bad. It still leaks. (see video) What to do now? Or might I have the wrong O-rings? (edit: I rechecked and it looks like correct O-rings) Also, on the other half of the assembly, the part that the...

    Stand-alone tilt/trim pump

Things have just thawed out here and I'm finally looking at this pump. I wanted to search for an exploded view but there are no readable markings so I don't know what to search for. Where should I be digging to get at these Orings?
