I'm doing much less than that with the water dispersement. I feel that It's definitely an impeller issue, no doubt.

Is there a way to tell if the impeller is working?

I'm removing the lower part of the outdrive, leaving the upper in tact. Just drained the gear oil. I think I may have put the impeller in wrong, or maybe the F...g key fell out of the slot,,, who knows, I'm really unsure, needless it's worth to inspect it. The top riser elbow got real real hot...

I pulled the main outdrive hose while it was started and some water was coming out with the muffs but not a lot.

Is there a way to tell if the impeller is working?

I replaced my impeller a month ago, I just put the outdrive on today and noticed I wasn't getting any good water flow coming out of exhaust. I think I may have put it in incorrectly, I'm unsure. I noticed I had milky oil when I checked dipstick. Last thing I did was clean the riser and replaced gasket. It never overheated. Ughhh

The plugs, the gasket and the riser look fine. Should I drain the new oil, and then add new oil again, so it will be changed twice. It's still a lil milky... Or what's the procedure when you have water in the crankcase. How doe you get it all out?

    Carburetor question

Thanks the carb was really gunked up and rusted, the boat was sitting in a driveway for 12 years unused. It's running amazing since the carb rebuild a few months ago as it was resurrected from its grave. It idles nice. I'm stoked, and all for an $11 kit and some good DIY YouTube videos to guide...

    Starboard riser running hot

Yeah I'd put it in the water and run it too. Maybe the pressure from the lake/ocean will be a better outcome. You won't know till u try it.

    Starboard riser running hot

Deleted previous message. Just read that you removed your riser and checked it. They do get clogged up w rust. I know mine was really bad. I wonder if you might have a bad/faulty water pump, not impeller, but the water pump itself. There could be a water flow restriction in the system somewhere too.

    Carburetor question

I rebuilt my carb a few months ago, my first attempt ever. I couldn't get the dang plunger out. So I cleaned and oiled it, as best that I could, and left it in. No issues as of yet. Some before and after pics.
